November 10, 2024 at 12:38 pmIn my opinion, this movie gives a strong but mostly familiar experience within the Alien franchise, combining impressive visuals and effects with some storytelling choices that can be frustrating. The world-building and references to past films will likely please long-time fans, but they make the movie feel unoriginal.
Rain’s character seems to try too hard to copy the famous Ripley role, which might feel boring to viewers looking for something new. It’s interesting that you thought Andy, played by David Jonsson, was the most interesting—maybe his character adds something fresh or deeper that makes him stand out in an otherwise predictable story.
The film has some strong points, especially with its visuals, scares, and action scenes. However, it misses the chance to stand out, especially since the Alien universe has so much potential for new ideas. For me, it seems like a good movie, but not something that will change the orignal one.
